The Magic of My Mom's Laugh

You know how some people have a laugh that sticks with you?

My mom is one of those people. Her laugh is truly infectious.

The kind of laugh that fills hearts and rooms.

The kind of laugh that makes you feel good just by hearing it.

The kind of laugh that comes easily and freely, without pretense or ill intention.

A laugh that exudes joy, delight, and wonder.

A laugh that connects and comforts.

A laugh that frees and heals.

A laugh that uplifts and unites.

A laugh that breaks down barriers and builds bonds.

A laugh that softens the edges of sadness and fear, and opens the door to unfiltered joy.

My Mom’s laugh still has that effect on me and on those around her.

It’s a trait of hers I will always hold onto because it’s such a big part of who she was, who she is, who she’ll always be.

It’s a trait of hers that sends me gentle reminders to have fun, to loosen my grip, to

not take things so seriously.

Through the sweet sounds of her laughter, she reminds me what it means to truly live.

Alzheimer’s hasn’t stifled her beautiful laughter and for that i am incredibly grateful. I’ll always appreciate it for the cherished gift that it is.

Her laugh will forever echo in the chambers of my heart and the spaces of my soul, forever filling my entire being with pure, unequivocal joy.
